This term, I am teaching four courses. During the seminars, I am realizing that I have fully moved into an active learning style of teaching. In class sessions, I am asking students to summarize class readings on a poster, prepare quizzes, and student contribute to the course online platform. It still amazes me how well this teaching style fits students and leads to contributions from all class participants.
A few courses on academic teaching at the University of Bremen and three books have led me into active learning. I am still drawing regularly on them to prepare my class sessions.
